We chose the name Fulton Yards primarily to honor the rich history of our neighborhood. In the early 1800s, this strip of land along the Ohio River became one of America’s most vital centers for building wooden steamboats. The area was, in fact, known as Fulton. By 1819, an impressive one-quarter of all riverboats navigating the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers were constructed right here in Fulton’s shipyards, a testament to its industrious past.
